Conversion of the prorated 13th monthly pay check into off time
At GlobalFoundries (GF) Dresden, we would like to help you maintain a good work-life balance. Under certain conditions, we therefore provide all our employees the option of converting a part of their respective prorated 13th monthly pay check into additional paid off time. This gives you the opportunity to organise your working hours more flexibly, to reduce time-related stress, and to strike a better balance between work and family life.
Prerequisite: The application form for conversion of the respective pro rata 13th monthly salary is available (within defined time windows) in Service Now. Practicability must be checked after consultation with the supervisor. For a period of half a year, a maximum of 50 hours may be granted to full-time employees (the no. of hours are reduced pro rata for part-time employees). You do not actually have to take all of the 50 hours. The regular pro rata 13th monthly salary is reduced by the value of the hours actually utilised by the payment date (in June/November each year). For employees who have concluded a conversion agreement, application for and approval of the specific periods takes place via the PeopleSoft Employee Self Service. Jobticket/annual travel ticket
As an employee of GF Dresden, you will benefit from travelling by bus and train, because we subsidise all annual travel tickets issued by the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB). The discounted Jobticket entitles you to the use of public transport in Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO - the Public Transport Authority Upper Elbe) according to the selected tariff zone and is valid 24 hours a day, however, from Monday to Friday between 6 am and 6 pm only in conjunction with an identification document (non-transferable). During the rest of the time, the job ticket can be passed on to other persons (does not apply to trainees at a reduced price). It is always possible to take a bicycle or dog with you. From Monday to Friday from 6pm to 4pm, as well as all-day on weekends and public holidays, there are also generous travel arrangements for one additional adult passenger and up to four children. So you can explore our state capital and the surrounding areas of Dresden while protecting the environment at the same time.

Support for surviving dependantsIn the event of death of an employee, GF Dresden will pay the spouse, the children or the parents of the employee (if they were dependent and actually looked after by the employee) the pro rata remuneration for the month of death and three additional monthly salaries. However, this payment will be granted maximum up to a fixed termination date, e.g., in the event of resignation.
In addition, GF U.S. Inc. grants a one-time payment of EUR 4,000 to the aforementioned group of persons. However, this benefit is voluntary and may be changed or suspended at any time by GF U.S. Inc. at its own discretion.
Other benefitsWe also offer many other benefits at GF Dresden. So, for example, there are various facilities in the break rooms such as a book corner and an activity room that has table football and a game console. If you need some time for yourself during the break, our relaxation room offers the necessary sanctuary. A variety of free hot drinks is available in the tea kitchens and employees who have been with the company for five years or more receive a gift for their anniversary. There is also an ATM and a cleaning service on site, where, for a fee, you can hand in your work and personal clothes for cleaning.
